Sandra (Peterkort) Laubenthal started at age 6 pulling weeds in the greenhouse, and now she has much more fun selling Peterkort Roses products to florists at the Portland Flower Market. In between, she had a 20-year career in public finance with various Portland agencies. She lives in Portland with her husband Jim, and her children Michael and Sam. When not at the market or the farm, she loves reading, cooking, traveling, and redoing her back yard, which so far is a paper exercise in how to fit garden art, steps, pavement, a greenhouse, a fountain, and thousands of "must have" plants into a 50 by 25 foot space.
