Peterkort Roses Plants New Varieties for 2010
November 7, 2009
News PicturePeterkort Roses of Hillsboro Oregon announces our new rose varieties for 2010, and expansions of existing popular varieties.

Although times are tough it still makes sense to introduce new varieties into the market, said Sandra Laubenthal, sales associate for Peterkort Roses.

The new varieties were planted in hydroponic production areas of the greenhouse, and some are in areas with high-tech lights which produce more flowers in the low-light periods.

New varieties for 2010 include Romantik Antike (pictured above), a sport of the popular Karamel Antike; Surprise, a spray rose in a peach color similar to the color of Prima Donna; and an as yet unnamed garden rose variety in a peachy yellow color.

Existing varieties which were expanded include Piano Freiland and Marina, a hot pink hybrid tea which is a sport of Bordeaux.

These roses were planted in October 2009, so production will begin in Spring of 2010. We anticipate that these varieties will receive a warm welcome in the Portland market and elsewhere.
